Terms of Service

1. The service

SentSonar is a Chrome extension and companion service that adds read tracking to email you send from Gmail. By installing the extension or using the service you agree to these terms.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use SentSonar only for lawful, legitimate correspondence. You must not:

• use it for bulk, marketing, or unsolicited email;
• use it to harass, stalk, surveil, or intimidate anyone;
• use it where tracking would violate applicable law — including consent requirements under the EU/UK ePrivacy rules and GDPR. You are responsible for your own compliance, including enabling the disclosure footer where disclosure or consent is required;
• attempt to probe, disrupt, or reverse the service’s classification systems;
• resell or white-label the service without written permission.

3. Honest-signal disclaimer

Read signals are probabilistic. Mail clients proxy, pre-fetch, and block images; our classifications (“read”, “machine”, “unknown”) are best-effort interpretations and are not guarantees that a message was or was not read. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

4. Your responsibilities

You remain the sender of your email and the controller of your correspondence. You are responsible for what you send, to whom, and for any disclosure obligations that apply to you.

5. Availability and changes

The service is provided during early access free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. Gmail’s interface is not ours; when Gmail changes, features may degrade until updated.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what data we process and is part of these terms.

7. Intellectual property

The extension, service, and site are owned by SentSonar. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for its intended purpose.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SENTSONAR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH, DURING FREE EARLY ACCESS, IS ZERO).

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, particularly of section 2.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be noticed in the extension before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
